Playboy, Fireboy’s third studio album, which was just released, made its debut on the Billboard Album Charts.
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
Recently, Fireboy released his third body of work, which he dubbed “Playboy,” to immediate popularity in Nigeria. Chris Brown, Shenseea, Euro, and Ed Sheeran were among the notable foreign performers on the album.
The choice to add some global appeal paid off, as “Playboy” debuted on the Billboard 200 at number 129 in the list for the week of August 20. This comes after the record sold 9K copies in the US, giving Fireboy his chart-topping debut.
The highest ranking effort for Fireboy on the list, “Playboy,” debuted at number four on the Billboard World Album Chart.
After the release of the “Peru” remix featuring Ed Sheeran, Fireboy enjoyed significant success in the US. Additionally, he participated in the remix of “Frozen” by Madonna. Chris Brown’s appearance on “Diana” was also certain to increase awareness of the record among Americans.
In the upcoming weeks, Fireboy will try to build on this achievement and go up the rankings even more.
