The fourth album by Nigerian superstar Davido was released on March 31, 2023. After a brief period of silence from the award-winning musician, who has established himself as one of Africa’s most powerful hitmakers, the eagerly awaited 17-track album was released.
African albums’ first-day streams on Apple Music have reached a new high thanks to Davido’s “Timeless.” This information was made public on April 3, 2023, in a tweet from Apple Music’s official account.
With the album charting in 102 countries, peaking at number 26, and achieving a new African top of number 2 in the United States, Davido has already smashed multiple first-day records across Boomplay, Spotify, and Apple music charts throughout the world.
With its first day of release on March 31, “Timeless” surpassed Burna Boy’s “Love, Daminiprevious “‘s record debut week total of 4.89M streams to set a new record for the highest debut week by any album on Spotify Nigeria.
‘Timeless’ also shattered Boomplay’s record for the most first-day stream total. Its 7.25M streaming on day one beat Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” as the record for the first day (3.38M).
Davido breaks the record established by renowned Nigerian hitmaker Asake with his debut album, “Mr. Money With the Vibes,” with “Timeless.”
