After two weeks in custody, the Nigerian Navy has freed Instagram comedian Ahmed Oluwatoyin.
The comedian and officer willfully broke the armed forces’ social media regulation, according to a Navy official, but was handed a minor sentence of “one-month additional duty” after he was prosecuted for misconduct and indiscipline.
Cute Abiola had been freed from naval jail to serve his sentence, he added.
It will be remembered that the comedian’s colleague, Mr Macaroni, had raised an alert about his movements.
The Navy quickly responded with a statement revealing that the comedian, who is also a Navy employee, had been jailed for defying instructions.
“OSCOMP Abdulgafar is currently under custody of his unit for breaching the Armed Forces Social Media Policy and refusal to obey particular orders,” part of the statement read.
The Nigerian Navy shot down claims that a military commander had gone missing.
It also instructed all of its staff to follow the military organization’s policies.
Cute Abiola, also known as Abdulgafar Ahmad Oluwatoyin, is a Nigerian comedian, naval officer, entertainer, and video producer who is most known for his social media comedy routines.
