Charles Okpaleke, the head of Play Netflix Studio, has responded to the harsh criticism that his most recent remake, “Glamour Girls,” got when it debuted on Netflix.

Okpaleke retaliated against “proclaimed Nollywood filmmakers and reviewers” for their unimpressive assessments in a harsh new five-paragraph statement.
The most recent remake from the company debuted on Netflix on June 24 after going direct-to-streaming. As a result of the project receiving harsh criticism from Netflix viewers, it turned out to be every filmmaker’s worst nightmare.
The adaptation, which is set in Lagos and stars Nse Ikpe-Etim, Sharon Ooja, Joselyn Dumas, Toke Makinwa, and Segilola Ogidan among others, chronicles the exploits of high-end prostitutes.
The most recent adaptation of Play will be the second Nollywood movie to receive just unfavorable reviews on Netflix. Recall that earlier in January, Nollywood fans also expressed their disapproval of the “Chief Daddy” sequel from the EbonyLife movie.
On Netflix Naija’s most popular list, the remake is now ranked first. ‘Glamour Girls’ topped the charts in 16 different nations, the director further said on Tuesday.
