President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China’s , expressing his desire for cooperation with the APC.
According to a statement from PMB media assistant Femi Adesina, the president wrote to Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying that China has succeeded in establishing a “moderately prosperous society” and is on its path to becoming a “modern socialist country.”
President Buhari also stated that the two countries’ relations “have seen an increasingly enhanced political trust, closer mutually beneficial economic and trade relations, and cumulatively dynamic people-to-people exchange.”
“On behalf of the government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I would like to extend warmest congratulations to Your Excellency on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC),” the letter said.
“We strongly appreciate China’s steadfast reaction and extraordinary accomplishment in combating the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as its contribution to the world, particularly Africa, by sharing experience, expertise, and medical assistance materials,” the statement said.
“Over the last 50 years, Nigeria and China have developed stronger political trust, deeper mutually beneficial commercial and trade connections, and a more vibrant people-to-people interchange.”
Nigeria is ready to work with China to improve bilateral relations, deepen cooperation in all pragmatic sectors, and “to promote exchanges between the two ruling parties (APC and CPC) so as to lift the Nigeria-China strategic partnership to a higher level,” according to the president.
