Adamu said the committee would look at ASUU’s further requests, particularly those on which there hasn’t been agreed.

A committee to evaluate the requests of the Academic Staff Union of Universities has been established by President Muhammadu Buhari.
On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, in Abuja, the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, made the announcement during a meeting with Vice Chancellors and Provosts.
The minister stated that the Federal Government has formed a committee to review the matter. He added that the group is headed by him and includes four pro-chancellors and four vice-chancellors.
According to Adamu, the committee is expected to examine into the other requests made by ASUU, especially those on which there isn’t general agreement.
He said that the committee will examine the “No Work, No Pay” and pay difficulties for university instructors.
In response to a query on whether the government will reconsider its stance on the “NO work, no pay” rule, Adamu stated: “There has been an appeal generally for the system to take a second look at that and that is what the committee will look into.”
ASUU has been on strike for more than six months, in case you forgot.
In order to further its demands for the revitalization of public universities, the payment of earned academic allowances, and the implementation of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) for the payment of university lecturers’ salaries, among others, the union went on strike in February.
