The sexual assault trial of Nollywood star Olanrewaju James, commonly known as Baba Ijesha, was delayed on Thursday by the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja.
After he requested that his original statement be changed, the trial was adjourned.
The disgraced actor sought that the court wipe out the statement he made at the Sabo Police Station when he was first detained through his lawyer, Prince Kayode.
His lawyer claims that the statement he made at the Sabo Police Station differs from the one he provided at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
On April 22, 2021, Baba Ijesha was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old child under the care of comedian Princess.
Six counts of sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault have been filed against the actor.
The case has been postponed until December 15th.
