ASUU ordered Universities to resume school activities.
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
Many government-owned institutions have continued to declare their resumption dates since the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ protracted strike came to an end; others are aiming for Monday, October 24, 2022.
If certain requirements are fulfilled, ASUU resolved to halt the strike it started on February 14, 2022, to make its demands known to the federal government.
Following the union’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Thursday, October 13 in Abuja, the lecturers decided to call off the strike.
According to the union, on Friday, October 14, 2022, the strike was called off in compliance with the industrial court’s ruling. ASUU then commanded that Varsities begin right now.
While several universities had already started classes again on Monday, October 17, more have set Monday, October 24 as their start date.
