On August 29, a Federal High Court in Abuja will pronounce decision in the extradition action brought by the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) against suspended DCP Abba Kyari over his alleged connection to Ramon Abbas, nicknamed Hushpuppi, an accused online fraudster detained in the United States.

After counsel for the parties in the action adopted their procedures and presented their arguments in the issue, Justice Inyang Ekwo set the date.
According to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), the Federal Government has requested Kyari’s extradition to the United States to face charges related to his alleged involvement with Hushpuppi.
The application was designated FHC/ABJ/CS/249/2022 and was submitted by the Federal Government through the Office of the AGF.
The complaint was filed on March 2 and was captioned “Application for the Extradition of Abba Kyari to the United States.”
Kyari is the respondent in the application, while the AGF is the applicant.
Kyari was previously the chief of the Special Intelligence Response Team of the Inspector-General of Police (IRT).
As part of the Nigerian government’s acceptance of the US request for Kyari’s extradition, the application was submitted under the Extradition Act.
According to NAN, Kyari and six others are now on trial in a sister court, presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite, on drug trafficking charges.
