Cases have continued to grow in China, which is seeing its worst wave of COVID-19 infections since the epidemic began.

According to official numbers issued on Tuesday, a total of 5,154 new cases were recorded nationally on Monday, establishing a new high in the current coronavirus outbreak.
New infections have been identified in 20 different parts of the nation, with Jilin province in north-eastern China being the most impacted, with 4,067 new illnesses confirmed.
The capital Beijing, as well as the two major economic centers Shanghai and Shenzhen, reported additional illnesses.
Both Shenzhen and Changchun, the provincial capital of Jilin, are presently under lockdown, negatively impacting the economy.
On Monday, Volkswagen had to temporarily halt operations at three factories operated in collaboration with Chinese partner FAW in Changchun.
Foxconn, an Apple supplier, has halted work at its Shenzhen manufacturing site.
The huge IT hub’s nine million residents are under a one-week lockdown.
China has followed a rigorous zero-Covid approach, reacting to local outbreaks with lockdowns, mass testing, transportation restrictions, and quarantines.
