In the heart of Enugu, Nigeria, a historic building has been marked for a remarkable transformation, due to the vision of Pascal Murasira, a Rwandan entrepreneur and agri-business consultant with a deep commitment to sustainable development in Africa.
The founding managing director of Norrsken Hub in Kigali is driven by a passion for strengthening African communities through innovative and sustainable initiatives. His latest project in Enugu is proof of his dedication to turning forgotten spaces into thriving centres of growth and opportunity.
The building in Enugu was once a thriving printhouse in the 1930s, which has been abandoned for decades. Murasira’s vision is to breathe new life into this space, creating a hub for entrepreneurs and innovators that will drive job creation and community renewal.
He shared the news via his LinkedIn account, saying, “This site will soon become a world-class innovation hub here in Enugu, the capital of Enugu State, Nigeria.
Once a thriving printhouse built in the 1930s, this beautiful building employed around 3,000 people at its peak. Unfortunately, it has been abandoned for decades, leaving the roof and other structures in a state of decay.
Many African cities have similar historic buildings that have fallen into disrepair.
By transforming these spaces into innovation hubs, we can breathe new life into these locations and their surrounding communities.”
